Health Canada announced today that a brand of foaming baby wipes solution that was sold in Ottawa and Quebec has been recalled.

The name of the wipes is Northern Essence Foaming Baby Wipes Solution and it was sold at A Mother’s Touch in Ottawa, Calins et Popotin in Montreal, Boutique Pousse-Pousse in Longueuil, and Vive la Vie in Ste-Marie-de-Beauce. The baby wipes are said to be contaminated with Micrococcus bacteria which can lead to urinary and skin infections.

Health Canada is telling anybody that bought these wipes to throw them away immediately.

Amby Baby Motion Bed

The Amby Baby Motion Bed swing has been recalled by the manufacturer as a result of two infant deaths from suffocation.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the side-to-side tilting and shifting of the swing can cause the child to roll over and become wedged up against the side of the swing, which can pose a suffocation risk.

The beds are marketed to help babies with colic and reflux. It looks just like a hammock and the bed moves up and down or side-to-side every time the baby moves or stirs. The idea behind the bed is that it mimics the mother’s womb, which would help a baby sleep.

The bed is available in only one model and has a label attached to it that is marked “Amby – Babies Love It, Naturally.” All of the beds were sold online, and have been for sale since 2003.

Parents are being advised to stop using the swing immediately. The manufacturer says it will offer a repair kit to parents, but it will not be available before January 2010.

Heinz baby cereal is being recalled today. The manufacturer is warning parents that the product contains a possible carcinogen. The company is recalling the Mixed Baby Cereal because it contains high levels of a toxin that is produced by fungus called Ochratoxin A.

Heinz is telling parents not to be worried if your child has consumed the contaminated product because in small portions it should not cause any problems. If you do have any Heinz Mixed Cereal in your house, throw it out immediately.

Wow Tiger, You Really Do Have It Rough!

So…. Tiger Woods cheated on his wife. Now he has to explain it to the world. This morning he released a statement admitting that he was unfaithful to his wife, but I guess he has a hard time spitting it out, so a new word for cheaters has emerged. He has apparently made “transgressions” . I’ve never heard of this term before, so I decided to look it up. Here’s what I found on dictionary.com:

Okay, so Tiger Woods can make it sound however he likes, but he still did the nasty with multiple other women. Apparently, he complained to one of the women that marriage isn’t all it’s built up to be. Ummmm, yeah, that sure is the truth when you’re SLEEPING WITH OTHER WOMEN!!!!!! Oh boohoo Tiger, you get paid millions to play golf, you have a beautiful wife, and two healthy kids, and you still aren’t happy??? I seriously don’t get people sometimes. If I were in his shoes, I would be walking around with a huge smile on my face, and then I would go home and roll around in my money just because I can. Life is treating you pretty darn good, go get some marriage counseling and keep your peen in your pants!

Oprah will be announcing on her talk show tomorrow that she will be ending her show next year. Oprah has been on the air for 24 years and the official last day her show will air will be on September 9, 2011.

Can you imagine life without Oprah? She really changed the face of TV talk shows in an enormous way. In her earlier years, she used to cover the same sort of topics that you would find on any talk show. For the most part it was juicy topics that would sometimes seem to exploit the guests for entertainment purposes. Then one year, she decided that this was not what she wanted to represent. She switched the focus of her talk show to cover stories and topics that would help to improve and enrich her viewers lives. Her motto was and still is “Live Your Best Life.”

Straying from what you know works takes a lot of guts to do. I really admire her for doing what she felt was right. She took a risk, and it worked! She has had one of the most successful talk shows out there. Not only that, but she has helped others create successful shows as well. The Dr.Phil Show, Dr.Oz, and the latest that I have heard is that Nate Berkus is now getting his own show. Everything this girl touches turns to gold!

I have to say that I don’t watch Oprah everyday, but I do watch her show on occasion and I will be very upset when she goes off the air. Her shows are always interesting and she just knows how to talk to people and get them to open up.

We’ll miss you Oprah!

Maclaren US has announced a huge recall on their strollers today. The recall affects over 1 million strollers after some children’s fingers were amputated when they put them into a side hinge. Fifteen children have been injured so far.

The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno, and Easy Traveller.

If you own one of these strollers, you can contact the company and they will send you a repair kit in which you can use to cover the joint on the side hinge.

Maclaren is advising all consumers that they should stop using the product immediately and contact Maclaren by either visiting their website or calling them toll-free at (877) 688-2326.
