Halloween Fun
Here’s my little Elmo all dressed up ready to go out and get some loot:

Along the way she met up with a little giraffe (at least, that’s what I think he was. He was cute regardless):

Earlier in the day, I was hard at work carving the pumpkin with Ava’s assistance:

And here is the end result of this year’s pumpkin carving:

Pumpkin Carvings
We live in a great neighborhood for Halloween. There are lots of kids and we sure do get a lot of traffic come October 31st. Every year I carve a pumpkin, and I like to try different designs. Here are a few of my pumpkins that I’ve carved over the years. Feel free to copy any of the designs for your pumpkin!

Painted Pumpkins Halloween Craft
My husband, daughter and I decided to do a Halloween craft tonight. Since my daughter is only 2 years old, she is too small to carve a pumpkin because I can only imagine the bodily harm that would occur should we give her a knife. Not a good idea! So, instead, we painted pumpkins. I will still carve my traditional pumpkin, but I thought it would be a nice idea if we each painted one, so that Ava could be involved. It’s a much cleaner alternative for those of you who hate cleaning out the pumpkin and digging around for the seeds. All you need is:
- a pumpkin
- some acrylic paints
- paintbrush
Make sure you clean the outside of your pumpkin really well before you begin. I also suggest that you lay some garbage bags or newspaper down on your table, otherwise you will have a different color table when your child is done with it.
Here are the results of our evening of painting:

Can you guess who painted each pumpkin?
